I had a problem sending a word file (from Mac 8.5) to a Notes Client 7 on separate domain.
After some tests to narrow down the problem, I prepared three text document files:
F1: created with Microsoft Word 2008 (.doc format Word 2007)
F2: created with OpenOffice 3.0 (.odt)
F3: created with OpenOffice 3.0 (.doc format Word 2007)
Then I attached the three files to a mail memo on Mac OS X with Notes Client 8.5. I have the following strange things happening:
- F1 is BinHex encoded in my sent copy (Sent view). If I try to save to disk, the file has the following on top:
(This file must be converted with BinHex 4.0)
- Recipient (Notes v7 Windows on seperate domain) gets two copies of F1:
2a: one with .hqx extension
2b: one with correct file name
Both copies have this string on top:
(This file must be converted with BinHex 4.0)
-
If one tries to save the two copies of F1 to disk (extensions .hqx and .doc), both are non usable since they are BinHex encoded.
-
If recipient (Notes Client v7 on Win) tries to view files with Notes Client viewer, they are ok.
-
F2 never had a problem (got there and was usable)
-
F3 WAS LOST !!!
Can any one help?
