Is there is a way to configure the Outlook “Delete” file to NOT sync with the Lotus Notes “Trash” file? I tested the apps and it seems that if it is deleted from Trash on Lotus, it is also deleted from Delete folder (and any other folder) in Outlook. Some users want to control the delete actions so to prevent items being deleted on their local pst file while we delete items, on a frequent basis, from user’s Trash file on the lotus notes server level. A solution would be for Outlook “Delete” file to not move into Notes “Trash” file. Pointers on this type of configuration would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi co cheers :
No there is nothing you can set to stop the deletion of a file from the Outlook folder when the file is deleted from the NotesTrash folder. The goal is to keep the size of the mail files (. NSF and .PST) small
But you can try:
In Notes
= create a folder call “saved file” and move the file to this new folder
= have people create a back up of their nsf file to the local PC. Archive the file using replication
( see → file → replication for more information on this feature )
This method will save space on the server and they can copy the .nsf to a CD each quarter to save space on their PC. Also you can set replication to only replicate file in the "saved file " This will save more space on their PC.
= make sure soft deletion is set in the Users Mail .nsf and up the number of hours for when the file should be deleted
This will give a person time to move the file…
In Outlook
The same answer here
-
use Outlook Autoarchive (under Tools -->Options → Other )
-
move mail to Saved files ( this new folder will be created in Outlook if you created it in your Notes mail the next time you replicate )
Hope this helps
