Wish List ~ Roaming Users ~ Please help

I’m planning on upgrading to 6.5.1 soon. The main reason to upgrade is for the roaming users functions.

Here is what I would like to happen:

My users will be able to sit at ANY machine within our organization and access they’re Lotus Notes mail and personal databases and desktop. I believe multi-users would be a good option but I don’t want the user to have to install the first time they want to log on.

We want each user’s personal files to sit on the server (not on the local machine).

Has anyone worked with roaming or multi users before?

What is the best approach to setting up an environment like the one I described?

Thanks so much!

If you want your users to be able to share machines and access their personal Notes settings, you have no choice but to install the multi-user client. If you want to avoid the first-time setup and have personal data stored exclusively on the server, I might suggest iNotes as a solution. You wouldn’t have the functionality of the full client, but it would appear to better suit your roaming needs.
