Windows to Linux cant "cd /local.notesdata"

I am trying to move Domino from Windows to Linux. Not much info on this so here’s what I’ve done and what’s not working:Normal install, but after initial setup copied the data from Win to /lotus/notesdata

Tried to sart using:

“CD /opt/lotus/bin” and “server” and enter

it dies when running the “server” script on line 506 and 508 when trying to “cd /lotus/notesdata” saying “No such file or directory”.

Permisions look fine - the user “notes” has all the access it needs and i’m running the commands as “notes”. just trying CD… works from a command line.

What iiiz the deal?

OS = Suse 9.3 with all the useual tricks (not that is matters)

Hardware = Big IBM xSeries 226 (not that it matters).

Domino = 6.51 - has worked fine on clean/new installs before, just havnt tried W to Lin.

Crazy???

Hi,

Have you changed the notes.ini. It contains paths to different ID and more is will refer to c:.… Change it to match the new locations.

As well do you say you make cd /opt/lotus/bin and then server.

You have to be in the data directory before you can start the server, e.g by (how you have named it) “cd /notes/data && /opt/lotus/bin/server”

“server” works from “/lotus/notesdat” Hmmmm.

accorning to the manual you have to (as “notes” not root):

cd /opt/lotus/bin - press enter

server - press enter

doent work. From the notes user home, it works! I.e. from /lotus/notesdata issue this:

/opt/lotus/bin/server

and away she goes.

Hmmm.

I still get the errors at line 506 and 508 of the “server” scritp:

cd /lotus… Not such directory

But it starts.

Hmmm

Hi Markus,

What do you mean with “and away she goes”? That it starts or it dies?

And what is written in the likes 506, 507 and 508 in the start script?

Tell me how you have installed the server (exact paths):

/lotus/notesdata?

/opt/lotus/bin?
