I should state from the beginning that this may be an O/S problem, not a Notes problem, but I Googled this issue to no avail, and it’s possible Notes is involved(?). So, hoping that one of you has insight into this…
We have Notes 6.01 server running on a Windows 2000 server. At 2:30 pm local time, I looked at the O/S time in the system tray, and it showed 7:30 pm. The server was still stamping its activities with the correct local time. When I opened the Windows clock controls, there were NO time zones at all in the drop-down. It was completely blank; in other words, I couldn’t choose a time zone if I wanted to.
After I restarted the entire system, the time zones were back, and the system was set to GMT. I could then set it back to our local time zone (Central U.S.).
This happened once before, about two years ago, so it’s not frequent, but it is a bit worrisome, since the timestamp can be so critical to Notes replication, etc. What happens when/if Notes does exchange time info with the operating system?
Any thoughts?
