Widget catalog problems

I’ve posted recently with problems on a widget catalog updating and got a reply to recreate the catalog. I’ve tried that, and get ‘widget catalog from server will not be used because there were errors creating local replica’

Now I created a company widget catalog previously and it went out fine, now no-one can access it. No changes to the server or clients, and I can’t even create a new one now. No problems with access, I’m the manager of the catalog.

Saw another post where it mentioned creating the eclipse update site. I’m not trying to deploy eclipse plug-ins, just nsf based sidebar widgets and live text. Had a look for creating an eclipse update site but didn’t get any helpful info anywhere anyway. The help for creating a widget catalog doesn’t mention this, so thinking it’s a red herring.

Any tips out there? I’m completely stuck and need to get this sorted

Thanks

Dan

Subject: Same problem here

Dan,

I’ve got the same problem, however it doesn’t happen to all my users.

The lack of additional information after getting the initial error (“unable to create local replica”) is disappointing.

I’ll continue to search for a solution and post back here if I find anything useful.

Subject: Thanks, I’ll be looking at this again today as well

Subject: Same Problem

I’ve got the same Problem. It accurs after installing Fixpack CHH3.

Have you installed any fixes recently?`

Greetings

Subject: Yes, I’ve put FP1 on

That’s a good question, it could be something to do with it. I’ll check someone that doesn’t have any hotfixes or FP1

Subject: Confirmed - 8.0.2 CCH2 works OK with my catalgo

It looks like CCH3 and FP1 break the widget catalog.

Subject: I agree

Any new installs we’re doing also get the FP1 package. These installs get the “can’t create local replica” error. Earlier installations can access the catalog and create the local replica.

Is IBM/Lotus aware of this? Anyone know if there is an SPR?

Subject: FP1 CCH1

I opened a PMR, and it is a known issue to be fixed in FP1 CCH1, although there’s no date of release for this yet.

Apparently the workaround is:

Enable/Check “Don’t prompt for password from other Notes-Based programs (reduces security)” option in File → Security → User Security…
