I have installed the Lotus Notes client with the multi-user option on my desktop. We use this option for roaming. As a developper I also need the designer, but when I try to install the designer client i get the message:
You are attemping to upgrade a Multi-user installation. Please obtain the correct installation package to complete the upgrade.
Isn´t there a way to use the notesclient AND designer in a multi-user installation ?

Hi,
You must do it by yourself.
Just install the client on:
c:\Program Files\Lotus\Notes
c:\documents and settings\username\local settings\ lotus\notes\data
then you manually change your icon to start notes using a specific notes.ini.
I did it, and it works.
Besides, multi user environment and roaming are 2 different features. They can be used together or separately.

YES, But after installation of the multi-user lotus notes client it is impossible to install the Domino designer client. The installation aborts with the errormessage:
You are attemping to upgrade a Multi-user installation. Please obtain the correct installation package to complete the upgrade.

Try resetting the multi-user Notes Windows registry entry to zero (single user).
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lotus\Notes\6.0\MultiUser=dword:00000000
I’ve gotten around other issues by changing this; perhaps it will help you.

Hmmm, did not really solve the problem. I have uninstalled the multi-user client and installed the conventional single user admin/designer client.
