Why does this happen? I’m running 8.5.1 FP4 Admin/Designer/Notes client and I’ve noticed this since version 8.0.x and it never has gone away. I’m talking different machines, even different companies, same issue.
My guess is that it has something to do with the admin tool still being non-eclipse based and the other two being eclipse based.
Case1:
If I have my Domino Administrator open and open an nsf file by double clicking it, something I copied down to my desktop and I just want to open it, it launches the Standard notes client but then opens the nsf in the admin program. Why not just open in the admin program…? Did it really need to launch the client?
Case2:
If I have my admin open and notes client open, click on a persons name, then click Open Mail File, it opens it up in the notes client, not the admin tool where I’m working. Hello, over here, I was working in the admin tool?
Case3.
I’ve seen the same sort of crazy focus issues with the designer client too. I have my notes client as well as my admin tool open. I’ve right clicked a database from the admin tool, choose open in designer, it opens but then anything I click in designer it takes me back to the workspace in the client. I have to close the client and admin before designer realizes, oh, I’m the open program.
Has anyone else seen this? Is it fixed in any upcoming release?
