I have recently upgraded to 8.0.2 and notice that I have large st#####.tmp files a Windows/Temp/Notes#### directory. I’ve researched this and can not seem to figure out why they are being created. They grow to 4GB very quickly and a new file is created. I am unable to deletes unless I stop the Domino service.
Subject: .tmp files
This sounds like a logging type of situation -can you read them with a text editor? Maybe if you see what is in them you can figure out who is generating.
Subject: May be another product placing them there
With the tmp files being in the Windows directory, I’d look at 3rd party products. I’ve seen Anti-virus products place infected files in that location. You should be able to use the sysinternals tools from MS to see who is creating the files.
Subject: tmp files can be created by debuging options in your notes.ini

also sauch a file can be created when compact task is runing (and you need to know what 8.0.2 has issue with compact and strongly recommended to install fp1)
Subject: Finally able to open one of these…
they grow so quickly and all it has is line after line saying:
=?ISO-8859-1?Q??=
