Hi
Some of our users have a problem with encrypted mail
“You cannot access portions of this document because it is encrypted and was not intended for you, or you do not have the encryption key”
The problem occurs when mail is sent from an OU to another OU within the same Organization.
Encryption is not turned on, neither on the client nor through policy.
Another thing: Only webaccess users (without an id file) get this problem. So comparing the public key in id file and directory is not possible for me.
I have tried recertifying the recipients.
I have tried recertifying the sender.
The public key in the senders id and directory recrord match
Why is the mail being encrypted in the first place?
Thanks
Ola

There is an option in the person documents to indicate if mail should be encrypted before storing in mailfile. Have you checked this?
Also when creating / sending emails there is an option on the memo form to specify if the message should be encrypted when sent.

Hi
Thanks, but neither is selected

For encryption, it is the public key of the recipients that matters, not the public key of the senders. It sounds like you have had a previous recertification of some users within your organization. My guess is that some senders either have an out-of-date local replica of the Domino Directory containing old public keys, or they had copied documents containing old public keys from the Domino Directory into their personal address books.
