I have a Form in a database, which has two Text type fields as Action1, Action2. Default values of these fields are set to “”
I want to find out respective user information ( Name and Time ) whenever these fields get edited and to store these information in 2 different fields.
Same document can be edited by several users at several times. Information of the user who involve with latest updates of these fields are to be maintained.
To work with the above requirement I’ve created another 4 computed Fields as follows:
ByMe1, ByTime1
ByMe2, ByTime2
I want to associate ByMe1 and ByTime1 with Action1, ByMe2,ByTime2 with Action2
Formula in ByMe1
@If(Action1 !=“”;@Name([CN]; @UserName);“”)
in ByTime1
@If(Action1 !=“”;@Created;“”)
in ByMe2
@If(Action2 !=“”;@Name([CN]; @UserName);“”)
in ByTime2
@If(Action2 !=“”;@Created;“”)
Lets say a user opens a document and edited ‘Action1’ field, when saved his information stored in ByMe1 and ByTime1. That’s fine.
Now when another user opens this same document and lets say edited Action2, then all ByMe1, ByMe2, ByTime1, ByTime2 get updated with this users details.
I want to stop this, I just don’t want to overwrite information which are already in ByMe1 and ByTime1 since this user hasn’t done anything with Action1 field…
Hi, i haven’t tried, but i think , you try to write you code “Entering” event of the field. I mean when you will try to enter the field then it will set value in Bytime1 and Byme1.
2nd user enters the@IF code for Action1 is TRUE as it is not blank therefore the TRUE condition evaluates
U will have to store the values of Action1 and Action2 in temp fields (Computed for Display) and before update action1 and action2 only if the TEMP field value and corresponding Action field value are NOT the same
