Which version of Domino runs on AIX 5.3?
The documentation mentions that Domino 6.5.x runs on AIX 5.2 and 5.1? Any experiences with AIX 5.3?

Domino isn’t supported on AIX 5.3 - released Q2/04. I tried installing it and it complained about I/O Completion threads even though I installed bos.iocp.rte. Maybe it checks the version and has no clue about bos.iocp.rte 5.3.0.0 - MR1 for 5.3 doesn’t have an update for this.
The release notes only specify the IOCP is necessary to run in 64 bit mode, but the only reference to the package is a 5.1.0.16 so it is unclear whether you need the 5.2.x.x version if you are running AIX 5.2 or if you need to track someone down with 5.1 CDs before you can install Notes.

Notes <> AIX (unless you have a Power 3 box still lying around)

Thank you for the link. The even better news is that on the 6.5.4 release notes they included AIX 5.3 and the Power 5’s as a valid architecture. In the early days of R6 we were refused support on a Linux platform that showed supported in an IBM support doc, but Notes support claimed that if it wasn’t in the release doc, it wasn’t supported.
Maybe it has changed with the 6.5.4 product, but I’m getting the following when starting the server on an AIX 5.3 MR1 P550:
Warning: Your system is not configured with I/O Completion Ports.
I/O Completion Ports must be installed in order to run the Domino 6 Server.
Install and make available I/O Completion Ports and restart your system.
I do have the 5.3 version installed and there is no IOCP update in the MR01 pack.
lslpp output:

I also do have the pre-reqs according to the support technote provided:
All filesets for IY58691 were found.
All filesets for IY58143 were found.

Ideas are appreciated and in the mean time, I may try pulling down 6.5.4.

IOCP must be made available/device links created before Notes will be able to use the IOCP functionality.
