Hi, having a lot of NAB problems in the past(especially after QMR upgrade and upgrade of NAB’s design), I have the following question:
Most of our servers are running R5 (from 5.08 to 5.011) and the only ONE is R6. All servers are “located” in the same Notes domain. Most users run R5 client, just a few are running R6 (some of them R6 mailfile, some R5 :-). Really mixed-version environment.
I’d like to upgrade our NAB to R6 version, but I am afraid what the result will be ? Any suggestions, experincees ?
(I am afraid of doing it because of several former problems with upgrade of NAB’s design - B-tree errors, storage corruption errors etc.)

The directory has to have the 6-design, the domino 6 server needs it. Other server (R5 and 4.6.7a) should have no problems.We are using the domino 6 directory in a mixes environment with

The only really important thing to consider is that the address book needs all the views Domino looks at.
As long as you did not customize the views in a very weird way you shouldn’t have any problems running an R6 remplate on an R5 server.
However, and that’s important: you can’t do an operating system copy command in order to move a directory from one server to another; the db formats are different, and an R6 file format can’t be read by an R5 server.
This does not affect properly replicated databases; database file formats never replicate, replication is only on the content of the database.
