Where is the Lotus Notes client version stored locally? We have a number of clients running 8.5.1 with Fixpack 2 installed. However their person documents in the NAB show 8.5.1 without the fixpack. When looking at the workstations, if you look at the Help->About menu, it also does not show Fixpack 2 installed. However, if you re-run the fixpack installer, it uninstalls the fixpack. Running the installer again, “installs” the fix pack but it still doesn’t show up in the NAB, nor in the Help-About menu.
Subject: Please provide fixpack related installation log files
The expected behavior after installing a FP is that the version number is immediately reflected in the help/about dialog. Shortly thereafter is is updated to the NAB through a background process.
As you are not seeing the FP2 version string in the help/about dialog, we would like to understand why. Can you please provide the following two logs?
A. C:\Documents and Settings%USERNAME%\My Documents\LotusInstall.log
B. C:\MSIVerbose.log
The first one in auto-generated when running the fixpack. The second one is generated at then same time when installing the fix pack with command (2) below using the following process:
0. ensure the fixpack is uninstalled from target computer
1. expand the fixpack content into a local directory: notes8standard_fixpack.exe /e
2. run the setup in local directory: setup.exe /s /v" /l*v C:\MSIVerbose.log /qb"
3. zip up the log files (A) and (B) and add them as a response to this note
