Where have my templates gone (6.5.1)

I have been installing Notes clients for quite a long time, so it’s exciting to have something new !!

I had a lot of problems with Notes on one PC.

I managed to uninstall 6.5 and install 6.5.1 (fr) after a lot of houskeeping in the registry.

Now everything is ok except that I have not a single template in my \data directory…

Tried Repair, Modifiy, 6.5.2 : no changes.

Any help welcome !

Have a good day.

Are you going through the admin? I recall back in 4.0 that you could see templates through the ‘open database’ dialog, but now, you have to go through the admin client, they should show up there. If you look under the ‘files’ tab, you can see all the files, just the templates, or just the databases, etc.

As this a client install, I made a double check from Notes (Create database) and through Windows Explorer : same result = no templates.

As a matter of fact, everything is missing : .gif, .dat, .ncf, .nbf, …

Did you install a Multi-user install by mistake?

Check the \Documents and Settings\Default User\Local Settings\Application Data\Lotus\Notes\Data directory.

Well, I didn’t intend to, but there seems to be something around this.

Actually, when I first tried to uninstall Notes and then delete the Notes Directory, I had that message that I couldn’t since a program was still active.

This program had to do whith what you mentionned : Multi-user install.

It tooke me hours to clean the whole thing (Registry).

I will have a look at \Documents and Settings\Default User\Local Settings\Application Data\Lotus\Notes\Data directory but you are right, it must be there.

However, I have now a working Lotus Notes, but I am still stucked with that “unadequate” install.

I have checked carefully that during set up, I choosed “for that client only” and that data directory was correct.

It leaves me with only one solution : reinstall the whole system… which I will probably not do since, for the rest ,it’s working OK
