Where does Auto Launch list come from?

In the form design properties, on the ‘Launch’ tab, you can specify that you want to auto launch an application. Does anyone know where Notes gets the list of applications in the ‘Auto Launch’ box? I suspect it is from the system registry but how does it determine which applications to show in the list? I have some Windows applications that are NOT in the list & would like to know why. Hope someone can shed some light on this.

Thanks.

You’re right, this has to do with the system registry…various applications register keys that they support. For example, applications that support embedding their content into other application’s documents (i.e. compound documents) would add an “Insertable” key. Other applications might register Send To handlers. Adding an “Insertable” key to an document type for an application that does not support compound documents would not enable this feature. I am not sure what key the Auto Launch queries for its list, but you could make a note of which applications are listed, check what keys they have and what key your requested application doesn’t have to see if adding it manually would add it to the list.
