When would a document object not have a created date?

Here’s a dumb question–is there ever a circumstance where a Notes document object would not have a created date? I have an agent that is bombing because I attempt to define a created date as part of the agent and one of the documents accessed apparently doesn’t have one.

Is there a situation where a document would not have a created date? After reviewing the db, I noticed that there are a number of replication and save conflicts. Also, I was wondering that since I grab the documents in the db by creating a DocumentCollection and using the the getAllDocuments method, if perhaps I am grabbing a deletion stub in the process.

any thoughts?

Hello,

Each notes document will have by default Created Date .There is no instance I can think of wherein u dont have it.

When u are running the agent , what is the error u r getting?

I get a nullpointerexception when I try to do a DateTime.TimeDifference method in a java agent. I have postulated that this is because my datetime object is not being set because Document.getCreated() is null. So I am trying to determine when a document would not have a created date so I can try to logically get around it…

If you display your document in a view wwith @created as one of the column formulas, does it have a value?

I ahve never heard of this before all docs have a default created date.

Determine this first

Mike,

That was a fantastic idea…and here it turns out the that replication or save conflicts do NOT list a creation date.

I am going to delete those docs and run the agent again tonight.

Thanks for the suggestion.
