For years I have used Esc key to close a window in the Notes client.
In Notes 6.0 (on W2K) I often find that Esc does not close the window – nothing happens.
Some of the times it seems to be related to the cursor having focus on a document listed in an embedded view of the current UI document, but at other times I see no particular reason why it doesn’t work.
I realise this was posted some time ago but I’m actually running into this same issue on a 6.54 environment (not sure if it’s this occurs as well on previous versions). Did you ever find a solution or a workaround? Given that I’m in such a habit of pressing the Esc key to close, I find it frustrating to click it twice: once to change the focus from the embedded view to the form and the second time to close the form. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Subject: re: When there’s no escape… - if URL in rich text !!
In case it may be of any use to anyone…
I found that if a richtext field in a cell in a tabbled table contains the string http://…’ then unless focus is on that tab/row of the table the escape key causes a bell to ring and it doesn’t exit the doc. If focus is on that tab escape works as normal !!!
i have the same problem… CTRl+W is working all the time (such as IE and opera) but escape doesn’t work, i noticed that when the focus isn’t on the main windows (like in a list for example) it’s not working… try to click elsewhere and then type escape…
