What to upgrade first, clients or server

Hi,

I guess, we made some mistakes when upgrading to r6. We never got the policies working correctly and we never got the smart upgrades working correctly. I must say, it is a omission (?) from LOTUS/IBM not to document these thing correctly. Just seeing how many problem mails have been written her in this forum. And I guess, many people would like to know, how to address the thousands of client in the world, who do not have admin access to their machines.

Ok, back to the topic. We are in need for the instant messaging integration and as all 6.03 fixes should also be in 6.5, I guess, we could also upgrade to 6.5. To be on the save side, clients or server first. Normaly we test the client for a while to check weather it is really usable or not but somebody told us this could spoil things up.

I am sorry to see you unhappy with ND6. I am happy with it and also Policies and SmartUpgrade are working. Maybe you should contact Support to get it fixed for you? (This is included in you license without any additional costs)

As with EVERY Notes/Domino upgrade you should upgrade the Administration server first, followed by the servers and the clients.
