What is the Benefit of moving from Notes database to IBM DB2 Express-C v9.5???

Our Domino Server is running on RedHat Enterprise Linux 5.2.

Subject: Different answers for different cases.

There is new possibilities - e.g. db2 access views as a design element.There is cases where you can expect more performance (I can’t tell you too much details, but this does not apply in all cases)

I am not sure if the free express version would be supported - and not which version match which ones.

In short a DB2 Shop will most likely investigate and move some of their apps, for everyone else often enough there is not enough in it to make it worth it, at least if there is no serious interest in doing DB2 anyhow or serious performance issues in some areas that can’t be solved in an affordable way with hardware.

Subject: I can’t connect Domno to DB2

Hi Bernfried,I guess I found the right person.

I can’t enable DB2 connection successfully within Domino 8.0.1 for Linux. Domino server crashed afer I filled in the DB2 enablement form within Domino Administrator.

What user/group accounts do I lack??? I already have these created:

notes group; db2dom group(added as sysctrl_group);

plus the 3 default DB2 groups as well.
