when you e.g. copy a database as link (workspace) and past it here, it looks like:

this can also contain view or doc references. normally you use it to create doclinks in notes-documents.
you can also create files that have this content and have extension ndl. if files are linked to nlnotes.exe (which usually is done at installation, but can be set manually in explorer) you can doubleclick them, notes opens the referenced doc/view/db.
