What if Master Lock Server unavailable?

I am using Document Locking, and I am testing the case when the Master Lock Server is unavailable.

When I edit a document, I get a message like “Document has been modified since opening, reopen in edit mode from view”. I go on and then get the usual warning about the Master Lock Server being unavailable, and that I will get emailed of any conflict.

Still, I change some values in the doc, and I can save it. It seems to work, but then at the next replica with another server (but Master Lock Server still down), the document is reverted back to the initial version. And I get an email with the original doc, with the subject :

“Changes made to database ‘DB TITLE’ have NOT been incorporated into the database. There was a conflict detected. Your changes may be found in body of this message. A document link to the original document is attached to the end of the message.”

So, how is that ? Is it not possible to edit a document when Master Lock Server is down ??
