Hi, like many of you I’m having a problem with unread marks. Although my problem seems to be slightly different in that most posts seem to discuss documents marked as read showing up as unread at a later point in time.
In my case I only work from a local replica of my mail file. When a new message arrives at the server I replicate it on a scheduled basis and the mail comes down to my client and is always “unread”. When I read the message it is marked “Read”.
Today this stopped working - in my server mail file I can see new mail with unread marks but always when I replicate locally the unread mark is lost and the mail shows as “read”.
Set up is as follows:
Notes 6.5 client with 6.5 Domino Web Access mail template design on Windows XP
Domino 6.0.1 server on Windows 2000
I have tried implementing “Replicate unread marks” on the DB Properties advanced tab. Have added Replicator_Sync_unread=1 to my local Notes.INI and have deleted cache.ndk all to no avail.
Like I said this has suddenly stopped working this morning.
Note: 1 week ago we clustered the mail server… but everything was OK.
Hi - here just a few standard action items…1. dump your local replica and pick up a new one from the server
check your Notes installation, is it “clean” if you suspect not then dump it and install from scratch
I don’t know about the file desktop6.ndk but in previous releases this one was related to the unread marks… and since the stupid (sorry, my oppinion) “workspace” is still there I think the link is also. So try to remove it and see if it will be re-created and perhaps the problem will gi away.
If you don’t like to do that you can always try to compact the workspace…
This is just the normal stuff so I am sorry if you expected some magic wand tric
