Does a customised home page have to be based on Bookmark.ntf ? With R5 we developed our own welcome page based on a home grown template. We are trying to use explicit policies to push it down to end users, one databases is sales, one is marketing etc… but it will not work. Does the filename have to be bookmarks.ntf? and does it have to be based on the R6 Bookmarks.ntf template ? Debbie, I’ve been reading your posting with great interest, an response on this one would be greatly appreciated

yes, since R6 when custom welcome page deployment was linked to dynamic config and policies, it became necessary to have the corporate welcome page database be based on the bookmark template.
The most customizable welcome page that we provide is the advanced personal page. Possibly that could meet your needs.

What I have tried ( and I’m an admin, not designer) is -Create a new databases from the Bookmark template
-copy the design elements of our existing Welcome Page template into this new databases
-Try pushing that down.
And I’ve had limited success, trying to get the developers onto it to work out what design elements are failing. Any input you have would be greatly appreciated.
One other question, it says on the article about deploying this that you need to input values for Create new replicas on users machines ( I’m assuming the customised welcome page) and Mobile Directory catalog… you need to be running a mobile dir catalog to use profiles ?
Thanks

At this time, changes to design cannot be deployed via policies.
