I’m in the process of planning a rollout of 8.5.1FP1 to replace clients at 6.5.5.
Since upgrading the servers from 8.5.0 FP1 to 8.5.1 FP1, it doesn’t seem that my explicit policy is being applied to my test clients, either 6.5.5 of 8.5.1.
We have a customized bookmarks template that we install on 6.5.5 clients but, at best, it’s a tedious process to modify the bookmarks template & agent each time we upgrade servers - so I was hoping to roll out a Welcome Page via Policy.
(Like I mentioned) I was successful in testing my Welcome Page when the server was running 8.5.0 FP1 - but found that I had problems with my Mobile Directory Catalogs being rolled out - and in fact, the Welcome page database name was being added to the environment variable ‘names=names.nsf, mdc1, mdc2’ - it was replacing one of the mdc database names.
Since upgrading the servers, now the welcome page isn’t being pushed out at all.
I’ve re-created a Welcome Page (IBM Developer) - the ONLY difference is that I don’t create a local replica of the welcome page (‘Setting up your Policy…’ Step 9 - Figure 6) - as the instructions state that this applies only to Domino 6.0.1 and 6.0.2.
My test Policy has worked until Domino 8.5.1FP1.
