Weird Script Code in Mail Database

Hi everybody,

I found a piece of code I do not understand - perhaps someone could explain that to me. In the Mailfile, there is a ScriptLibrary called “Rules_de-DE” (german version).

Open the sub ButtonOKClient and go down to Line 65:

'// Get count of all Rules

nTotalRuleNumber = Cstr(CompactMailRules())



If note.isnewnote Then '// Creating a new rule

	nRuleNum = Cstr(nTotalRuleNumber)

the function CompactMailRules() returns an Integer

so is the datatype of nTotalRuleNumber

Now my question: for which reason is the Integer typecasted with cstr(). If you read further, the same thing is done to nRuleNum

Is this a mistake, bad style or done for some reason?

Any ideas?
