Hello,
I want to control the access to the form based on some conditions. I would like to give a message to the user and prevent him/her from opening the form.
Similar to continue=false in lotus script.
Is it possible?
Thanks

Subject: WebqueryOpen to prevent opening the form
Sort of.
You can try the following:
In the form create a field called DontOpen.
In your webqueryopen set that field to 1 when your condition is met to prevent opening the document.
Add another field to the form that captures the CGI varialbe HTTP_Referer (the url the user was on when the request to open the form was sent).
In the HTML Head Contents section of the form write a META statement that checks the value of the DontOpen field. If it’s set to 1 then re-direct the user back to the calling URL stored in the HTTP_Referer field.
Et voila! Haven’t tested it though but it should work nicely.
If you need to display a message then you’ll need to re-direct via the form’s onLoad javascript event. However, this means the form will display first, prompt the message then re-direct giving the user the chance to see stuff. As a “fix” you can set the hide-when’s on the form to not display any information if the DontOpen field is set to 1 and the form is being accessed via the browser. This will effectively hide any information if the form is not supposed to open.
