Webmail Redirect

We are trying to use the webmail redirect to allow the sign on to direct the user to his or her email.

In the redirect database, in the server set up, I selected mail server for the redirection type, I put in the website name…www.companyname.com, in for the domain of the mailserver.

When I load up this database on the web, and I log in, it is pointing to mail.www.mycompany.com

Where ‘mail’ is our mail server name.

Any one else have this happen? If so, how did you fix it? Where might it be picking up the mail, and putting it on the beginning of the URL.

In the domain name field, you should just enter companyname.com. That is the domain name.

The redirector will then point to mail.companyname.com.

The application is doing what is supposed to (checking with application code).

With what you are doing you would want to have it use fixed not mail server. I would give the URL for the mail server within the FIXED option.

I changed to fixed, and basically left the domain name blank, and it worked fine.

Thanks for your help. Next, I have to get domcfg.nsf to talk to the webredirect.nsf (to direct to the mail file).

I put in the www.companywebsitename.com\webredirect.nsf in the redirect field of the logon form I created. But it is not redirecting, it is saying ‘form processed’. Is there anything I may be missing?

After that, I have it up and running. Thanks for your help.

You have to configure the domcfg.nsf to let it know what domain you want to function.

Within the domcfg.nsf click on the Sign In Form Mappings and create a mapping: Decide if you want to server wide or site specific. If is site specific you need to give the website or virtual server for the site. Then on the form mapping you can point to the redirect database and the name of the form.

I would restart the HTTP past to make sure it gets the new domcfg entry and it would work.
