Webmail server (Domino 9.01 running on Server 2008) is getting hammered by hackers trying to login. Anything you can do when this happens? (Legit users could be logging in from anywhere, so can’t restrict to only a few IP addresses.)
Subject: true but…
I’d be interested to know if there’s a solution that doesn’t involve more servers…
Subject: Suggestion
I would put 1 or 2 domino servers out side the firewall that all they would do is authenticate the users and then redirect the user user the DWA redirect utility to the users correct server. Info here http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21164497 http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21164497
My feeling is this way the hack attempts would only slow down the redirect server and not the mail servers http requests. If there is budget you can always look into front ending with other authentication servers like webseal.
Subject: Reverse Proxy ??
Hi Randal,
why don´t you implement either a Reverse Proxy or e.g. IBM Mobile Connect for handling all the web requests in the DMZ ?? Then you don´t need
any additional Domino Server…
