Further to earlier messages, I have now managed to consume a web service from both the client and a web query save agent using the MSSOAP3 toolkit.
There are 2 web services (from a .Net system, by the way), one returns an XML string, the other returns a .Net object. Ideally I would use the latter, and simply refer to the object’s properties e.g.
Dim result
Objname = “MSSOAP.SoapClient30”
Set SoapObj = CreateObject(objname)
Call SoapObj.mssoapinit (“http://server/UserAuthentication/Authenticate.asmx?WSDL”)
Set result = SoapObj.Authenticate(“12345”,“password”,1)
Msgbox result.Username
I get ‘instance member Username does not exist’
However, LS knows it is an object (msgbox typename(result) gives ‘OBJECT’).
Is it possible to access the properties of an object returned in this way?
If not, I can use the XML version of the web call, which, as I say returns an XML string - but then I would have to parse it.
Which is the easiest way to do this? This whole issue is not clear, considering how long it has been around in Domino. Is it the NotesSAXparser class?
All help much appreciated!!!
