Web Server Architecture

Can someone shed some light on how we can achieve this:

We have two Domino servers. One exposed to the web called server1 (DMZ) and another server (known as server2) accessible by internal network. We want make some of the internal databases available to web users. How can we achieve this?

One method is replication, but that means exposing databases directly to the web. Since we are going to host it on a Windows platform, is it possible to handle all data requests via the web on server1 - fetch any required data from server2 and then display it, without actually storing the data on server1?

Any ideas anyone? Has anyone else done this? Is this possible in Domino at all?

Hi

You may chose to replicate in one way only (push in DMZ connection document for replication, and pull with server2).

In that way, you may display to web users, but they won’t be able to modify the DMZ datas.

Thank you for your response. Since Windows server is easily hackable, are there any alternatives to replication. Replication means that storing data on server1 (DMZ), we want to try to avoid this, by storing no internal databases on that particular server.
