Web Rich Text Field PDFs not working: File does not begin with '%PDF-'

I am getting this error when I am trying to open a PDF file that I attached to a form through the web. This only happens with PDFs that are stored in a notes document

and I am trying to open with a hyper link that uses:

<a href="“+@Text(@DocumentUniqueID)+”/$File/“+@AttachmentNames+”>

This seems to be a relatively new problem. I did a google search, and Adobe

has some information relating to a MIME encoding problem. When I do a

“Save Target As…” it always saves a 16kb file regardless of the file size.

Any ideas?

get a handle to another file, say a JPEG, in the same manner?

Yes, GIF JPEG all work fine. I opened the PDF file in Notepad, andthrough the web notes seems to be stripping the first line of the PDF file out.

Yes, LZ1 unchecked solved problem!

But you do not need to uncheck that field to work, just uncheck Compress feild when attaching pdf files. And if you have old attachment that doesnt work you need to reattach them without compression.

Thanks to Matthew

SOLVED!

You cannot have LZ1 Compression for Attachments turned on in the database properties!
