Web Mail-unable to login if japanese username

Hello,

If the username contains japanese characters, the user is unable to login into web mail.

The user is provided with a internet password and also mailfile’s ACL is set to ‘Manager’ access for the user.

The mailfile name has japanese characters and also the username contains japanese characters.

The Domino server used is 6.5.5 JA version running on windows 2003 server.

Do I have to do anymore configuration?

Thank you.

Check the FullName field of the person document via document properties. Whatever it shows can be used to login from web, and first name is usually enough for the username from web, as Domino will automatically check all identical first names for the correct given password and log in the right user.

I use the fullname as specified in the document properties of person document for login.

The other users having no JA characters work fine.

Thank you.

Have you tried also to edit the person document with a web browser. Notes codes the JP characters sometimes differently than a web browser, for example using a English Notes client, it’s impossible to enter JP characters, and you have to do it from a web browser.

Hello Mika,

I didn’t understand the question? I had created this user using Domino Administrator. As it is 6.5.5 JA version, Ihad no problem of typing JA characters. I am able view the person document from web browser and edit the person details.

Thank you.
