I have a database for our intranet which due to Anonymous having no access will prompt users for their login. Good.
I have the Internet document set to Single Server for the Session Authentication field.
When a user gets to the Intranet page, after logging in, they then click on the Check Mail link (which goes to mailredi.nsf and redirects to their mail file just fine) - it Pormpts them AGAIN for their login and password before it’ll open their mail file.
I thought that was what Single Server was supposed to solve. What am i missing???
I’ve seen this on a number of ocassions and looked at it from a number of different aspects. In almost every case I found that it has to do with the fact that there is more than one domain involved.
For instance when in the first prompt it might say Enter Name and Password for www.company.com, and then in the second prompt it will say Enter Name and Password for /someotherdomain - in some cases the otherdomain is just a directory on the same server. In other cases its a different server
I’ve never been able to locate a universal solution, but maybe this is something to get you in a direction…
Jon, thanks for your reply. I DO have multiple domains hosted on the server… however, not Domino domains. There is only one Domino domain, and I am manager of both databases. I’m totally perplexed.
