Web Authentication & Doc Access (Server Migration)

Here’s the deal… have a web application with 1000s of documents. The docs (by views) are accessible only if the user’s username (common name) = the createdby field. How does this work if the solution is migrated to a different server with different O/OU, etc. In most cases, the common name will be the same from a web login perspective. e.g. user creates doc as “John Doe” on server A/OU1. The server is migrated to server B/OU2 but the user’s CN is still “John Doe”. Most users are web only (no Notes ID) but there are some with John Doe/OU1 that would now be John Doe/OU2. Either way, the user logs in as John Doe. What are the ramifications here? Will it still work if the common name is the same and in the username field?

Subject: John Doe vs. John Dow/Sample (Web)

What is the real difference between John Doe in a username field and John Doe/Sample + John Doe in a username field? Doesn’t Domino append the /Sample even if John Doe is only in the username? I notice that web docs (in doc properties) have John Doe/Sample even if John Doe is the only thing in username field. Does this sound right? Still trying to piece these things together… 1000s of docs have been created on server A/O1 and is about to be migrated to server B/O2. What needs to be done to ensure John Doe on server B/O2 can access his/her old web docs that have John Doe/O1 in the doc properties? Thanks…
