Hi all,
At the moment our domino servers are used to server up web only applications, these applications do not have a client based front end. The client is only deployed to our service desk and support people. A new application is being developed that requires the delpoyment of the notes client - basically it will be used by remote sales users. Is there any way to prevent these users with the client from accessing databases that have only been developed for brower access when both the web based and the new client based application will sit on the same server?
Cheers Jo

do you want to really prevent them from opening the database or just inform them this is a web application and to be opened with a browser ?
If it is the latter I would just add a URL link to the application on to the “Database About document” and have the about database document opened as the Notes Launch option (db properties)

Hi Martijn,
Thanks for the response - hadn’t thought of doing it that way.
I guess that there’s no way of preventing some users accessing the DB based on client type, so that’s probbaly the route that we will have to go down.
Thanks Jo

You could always try something in the postopen of the database script with the @ClientType formula.
