I’ve been noticing a lag in some agents that I call with ?OpenAgent via browser. The best way I can describe the issue is that the initial run is “laggy”, where it might take 5 seconds before the agent start executing.
To test this theory, I wrote a simple agent that does nothing more than print “test” to the browser window. When I first call it with ?OpenAgent, it takes about 5 seconds to return “test”. If I hit refresh within the next 45 seconds or so, it returns “test” almost instantaneously. If I wait about two minutes, then refresh, it again takes 4-5 seconds to return “test”.
My guess is that the process that runs agents on the web “goes to sleep”, or something is breaking my session with the web server and it’s taking a horrendously long time to re-establish for some reason.
These symptoms only apply to agents…pages/forms load instantly regardless of the duration between refreshes.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this? It must be some sort of timeout setting that I can alter, but I’ve been all over the NAB looking for it.
take care,
Mike
