Web Access - names.nsf?Login

If I type www.webserver.com I get the loginpage but when i try to login the browser shows this:

http://www.webserver.dk/names.nsf?Login

The page cannot be found

But if I type www.webserver.com/mail/user.nsf It works fine. What is wrong?

What is that you are expecting. You expect it to open user mail file based on user login? Then few questions.

Are you ojn Domino Web access (iNotes)? If yes you can achieve this by following few steps below to get the user mail file open.

Using Domino Web Access Redirect to access mail in Domino Web Access

Domino Web Access users can access their mail files using Domino Web Access Redirect. With Domino Web Access Redirect, users do not need to know the name of their mail file and mail server, they need only know the name of the Domino Web Access Redirect server. Domino Web Access Redirect uses Domino authentication methods to redirect a user’s browser to their mail file based on their username/password.

Setting up Domino Web Access Redirect

Domino Web Access Redirect is included as a template IWAREDIR.NTF in the Domino data directory.

To set up Domino Web Access Redirect:

  1. Create a database from the IWAREDIR.NTF template.

  2. In the Notes client, open the database that you created.

  3. Click Setup and follow the prompts to set up Domino Web Access Redirect.

Using Domino Web Access Redirect

To use the Domino Web Access Redirect:

  1. Launch the browser.

  2. Enter the URL of the Domino Web Access Redirect server (for example server.acme.com).

  3. When prompted, enter your user name and password. It will redirect to user’s iNotes mail file. This works based on person mail file location in person document.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Sri.

Subject: RE: Web Access - names.nsf?Login

I have just joined a company that needs exactly this kind of solution to eliminate the users from remembering their long email URL to be entered into the web browser address column. However, since i’m very new with Lotus Domino, can anyone further explained (in detailed) the steps explained by Venkata?
