We have the server archive mail every night for certain users. Most things go to the archive db but not all. Some emails stay in the original mail db not matter what we try.
Any suggestions?

How are you performing the archive?

It is done by the server - not a client type. Set to archive every night at 3 AM.
You set it up with database - properties - archive. There you choose to archive locally or let the server do it on a schedule.

Frank,
Having very little experience with archiving (And none of that is server side) I would look at the doc type. Are the docs that won’t move Memos, Meetings, To Do’s?
Do you get anyting in the domino log or system log that alludes to a problem?
Are those documents possibly encrypted somehow?

Generally speaking the following things can prevent some documents from archiving. This assumes that archiving is actually working, but is missing some documents:
the documents are protected from archiving by a field such as $NoPurge, ProtectFromArchive…(search on those terms)
the documents have not met the archive criteria (ie, they are younger than they need to be to get archived)
The documents exist in a view that is NOT selected by your archive criteria. if you’ve recently upgraded your templates (or domino address book), check that your views are selected properly. It might help to re-select the template and views in your policy document.
The documents are parents that have children that cannot be archived yet.
Hope that helps.
