Waiting for processes to exit - endless loop when server -q

Ok, I find it hard to believe that NOONE has ever posted a message about this. I searched for ‘Waiting for processes’ and got ZERO results!

Here’s the problem:

6.02CF2 running on Solaris 8

Server is running fine. When I do a server -q, I get an endless loops of “Waiting for processes to exit”

CPU utilization shoots up to 50%

I have to restart the entire box, and deal with DB Recovery… not cool.

Any ideas?

You don’t have to restart the entire box, go to the data directory and run nsd -kill. You still have to deal with DB recovery, but if you use tranaction logging that reduces the pain.
