Hi,

Would it be possible to have a data connection between a Microsoft Visual Studio and a Lotus Notes Database, if yes, how?

What kind of connection? What do you want to do? You can build a VS client that connects to a database on your Lotus Domino server via COM or a web service. Here is a query for visual basic (for example) on this forum:

Also, look for the Web Service demos in the Sandbox. There was a demo for the Web Services session that used a VB application as a client and Domino 7 as the back-end connected by, you guessed it, a web service.

I haven’t done this myself but since ODBC is one of the data sources you can connect to with Visual Studio, if you install the NotesSQL driver and define an ODBC data source with it through the Windows ODBC Data Source Administrator, you can select this data source when adding a new data connection through Visual Studio.

Thanks for all your responses. I am trying to connect a Visual Studio Application (non-web) to a Notes Database. I will have a look into web services and the NotesSql side of things.

If this is for the web side of things I know Domino supports WebDAV but I am not sure exactly what you are trying to do.

Can you provide more detail?
