Virtual sites and SSL. No authentication

Hi all,

I’ve installed a Domino 6.5.1 webserver and implemented SSL. The website was originally setup at the deafult site on the server, and that worked perfectly.

Now I’ve reconfigured the system so that the website is a virtual site on the server, still using SSL. No problem here until I add another virtual site. Then none of the sites respond. On the colsole I get a…

“HTTP Web Server: SSL Connection Required Exception - Access to this resource requires an SSL connection which cannot be established due to a configuration error [/homepage.nsf?Open]”

Does anyone have any idea of what could be wrong?

Kind regards,

Hans C. Koch

I got the same error after upgrading a Domino 6.5 server to 6.5.2. To get rid of the failing redirects to SSL I tried to configure the server as a “Site” with “Redirect to SSL” Enabled and Enabled “Load Internet configurations from Server\Internet Sites documents:” in the serverdocument. However this didnt solve the problem but when i disabled the “Redirect to SSL” still left in the serverdocument the redirect started working again.

Could it be possible that Redirect to SSL doesnt work in 6.5.2 without site enabled and the fields “Redirect to SSL” sensitive to be enabled in both the site document and the serverdocument at the same time?

Good luck

Ulf

Subject: SOLUTION: Virtual sites and SSL. No authentication…

hi,

On the security tab of the virtual host document, you just have to enable “Redirect TCP to SSL”… this seems to be doing the trick for me.

Subject: That wasn’t the problem.

If ‘Redirect TCP to SSL’ hadn’t been enabled then SSL hadn’t worked in the first place. So obviously this isn’t a solution.

Hans

According to the following link, its a ‘software limitation’ :frowning:
