Hi.
I’m working on an application where I am using a relational database (for demo purposes, MS Acess), and using LEI to create virtual documents in a domino database. I then use these documents in embedded categorized views on web, in order to take advantage of the RestrictToCategory feature.
Everything at first seemed to work just fine, then I started to test the “real time idea” by updating documents in MS Access, to see what happens.
Whenever I change an entry in MS Access, nothing happens in neither Notes nor web until i press Ctrl + F9. Then Notes gets updated, but I need to restart my browser to get the update pulled through. (I got the update on every visit and all features in my browser to not cache anything).
However, if I add a new entry in MS Access, the update is visible in notes instantly, and in the webbrowser by refreshing the page.
If I do both an update, and add an entry in MS Access, only the new document gets through. The update is still not visible.
The application is to be run towards a DB2 Database eventually, but I’m going to Demo the solution for my customer tomorrow. (And because of the simplicity, I chose MS Access for the demo.)
Do anyone have any experience with virtual documents, and access control? My application is an Extranet, and I need my users to only see “their” documents. Readers fields? LDAP through both Domino and LEI and DB2?
Any thought will be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
