$$ViewTemplate and default name

I really did spend at least 15 - 20 minutes looking on the web and in the online help docs, so please be nice!

I’m trying to build a DEFAULT $$ViewTemplate for several of my views. What do I have to call the view?

I still have to put the $$ViewBody field where I want the view to appear, correct?

This is indeed very obvious in the Help file.You create a form called $$ViewTemplateDefault and put a viewbody field (or a random embedded one) and away you go!
