Viewing Japanese in Notes client

I need help please in setting up client to view Japanese. Everyting is showing up as blobs, but when I view the same document via web browser, it’s correct, so the fonts are on my machine OK. How to I tell Notes client how to read it.

Set the database properties for multi-lingual and make Japanese the primary language.As long as the language is installed on your computer it should work fine.

Thanks for that, but still no improvement. Strangely, the subject shows Japanese characters perfectly, but rich text doesn’t. Is that any clue?
