I’ve got this view which displays response docs in a hierarchy, linked to their parent doc. The way the documentation describes it is that response docs are displayed in a single column with the option “show responses only”.
Is it possible to have the response docs categorised (actually sub-categorised)?

Yes, but you will need to create the categorization yourself. As a hint, for responses, the parent’s UniqueID is in the field $REF.
Things might get tricky if you have responses to responses. If that’s the case, the I suggest adding 2 computed when composed fields in your form: one to keep the immediate parent’s DocID and one to keep the thread’s parent DocID.
I did that in a few apps and it works well.
