One of my users has a special problem. Always she open her mailbox, by default (no manual intervention), inbox shows only unread message (like something has enabled “View Unread” button). Then she has to press on “View all” and she takes the full control again. Close Notes and open again and the situation is the same.
Looking for this issue in forum I’ve found some messages talking about something similar but no one explain teh reason for this strange behaviour.
I don’t know about any setting to control. Also refreshing or replacing design don’t work. And finally I’m thinking to reinstall Notes but it does not explain the problem.
You can go to Database Properties and on the launch tab see whether “Restore as last viewed by user” is checked. If it is unchecked, then this may be your problem.
If it’s already checked, uncheck it and close the properties window. Have the user choose “View All” and then close her mail file and open it. Then go back to DB Properties and check that box again. Then have the user close and open the mail file again. I have had success with variations of this method in the past with similar situations.
