View select to show only docs with responses

Designing for 7 years… never been so stumped. I would like to have a view where only documents with response docs associated with those docs show in the view.

This is a domino app, web only.

Example: Contact lists that show only those Contacts who have donated to the fund.

Subject: View select to show only docs with responses

Would it be possible to update a field in the main doc when a donation (response doc) was made? Then, you could set your selection formula to use that field.
