The problem scenario:
Server A - Database db.nsf(Replica) - View Search by Field:
Condition - By Field
Field - [FieldName] - contains (*)
Server B - Database db.nsf(Replica) - View Search by Field:
Condition - By Field
Field - [FieldName] - is on;is after;is before etc…(**)
You may have observed in the above, when I select a field (text field) which is exactly same on both the servers on two different replicas the view search feature gives different options. See * and ** above. Obviously [FieldName] is being intepreted as a DateTime field on Server B which is wrong. I had re-indexed the db, I’ve also done a FixUP -v and a compact without any luck.
Any ideas why this might be happening ?

Subject: View Search - Text field being intepreted as DateTime field
It is most likely becuase the UNK table has not been updated. The field most likely was a time/date field at one point and then changed to text (the unk table holds this info. The only way I have found to fix this is to:
Delete the FTIndex
Remove all forms (make sure you are using a template / .ntf) to get the forms back.
Compact the db (load compact database.nsf -c)
Recreate FTindex
Refresh the design to get the forms back
This should clean up the UNK table / incorrect datatypes.

Thanks for the info. I shall give it a try. Are there any c/c++ api functions where we can manipulate the UNK table ? Not a big deal. Asking just out of curiosity…
Much appreciated
Thanks Again

Not that I know of and probably not recommended.
