View problem - please help!

I have a Notes client database which although heavily used is just used by one person and is on a standalone PC (for security) i.e. not connected to a Server.

The problem is that the default view that opens becomes corrupted every few days or so. By this I mean, the content is OK but column margins just go bezerk, really wide and the formmating to pot.

Shift F9 does repair it but only temporarily. All other views on the database work fine. There are no other views in the db with the same alias and I’ve deleted the view and re-created it from scratch using a different name but all to no avail. The db icon has been removed and added to the workspace again to clear the cache.dsk but again this had no effect.

Any help would be REALLY appreciated as we’re at our wits end and it’s an important app as it’s for medical records. Thanks…

Creating a replica of the database (on a server) and running the replication task will probably resolve the immediate corruption. Going forward my advice would be to create a template, create a new db on a server from the template and set the database to refresh the design each night from the template. If you set your ACL up correctly (eg default No Access) there should be no security issues.
